MMFF 2021 Parade of Stars

DESPITE the rainy and windy weather, the Parade of Stars of the 47th edition of the MMFF held in Pasig River continued today (Sunday, December 19).

The concept of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Executive Committee and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) would have been good but the big artists with entries this year were not able to attend.

On the ferry boats boarded the artists and staff of eight films this 2021 MMFF game -by -game that greeted the people waiting along the Pasig River to witness the parade.

Sisters Toni and Alex Gonzaga were not on the ferry boat of the movie “The ExorSIS” but they were able to attend the MMFF program at the Circuit Mall held after the fluvial parade.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and his co-star John Arcilla for the movie “A Hard day” from Viva Films were also not in the parade.

Dingdong is still under mandatory quarantine at a hotel with his wife Marian Rivera.

They are from Israel where the actor accompanied his wife who was a judge at the 70th Miss Universe. John is said to be ill so he is also absent from the Parade of Stars.

Only their co-stars in “A Hard Day” Meg Imperial, Pio Balbuena and Janno Gibbs boarded the ferry boat (float) of the film.

And because Kapuso actress Winwyn Marquez is six months pregnant, she did not join the Parade of Stars for the movie “Nelia” from A And Q Film Productions.

Other cast members like Raymond Bagatsing, Shido Roxas and newcomer Juan Carlos Galano and sexy star Ali Forbes are riding on the float of “Nelia”.
Juan Carlos even took off his “Nelia” T-shirt and threw it at the people.

Kapamilya actress-TV host Kim Chiu said that she will not be able to join the parade but her co-stars in the movie “Bawal Lumabas” like James Blanco, James Teng, Dave Bornea and the director of the movie will still join Adolf Alix, Jr.

Also present were actor representatives of other films such as Direk Louie Ignacio for “Huling Ulan ng Tag-Araw” along with stars Ken Chan and Rita Daniela (our fave fans-friendly stars on the floats). We heard the young happy group of people shouting... "pokpok! pokpok!" (which is her famous role in her past telenovela with Kapuso Channel). Rita responded with a sexy pose for she knows - it is a "cheer" more than something else. And the audience applauded at the end of that float performance of her.

Jun Lana and Perci Intalan were also there for “Big Night” with the movie's lead star Christian Bables. Christian is also our fans-friendly star on float, the boat approached the people near the dike. Hmmm.. credit to the crew tho :) Ha ha!

And even though they didn't make it to the fluvial parade, some artists with filmfest entries, including Kim for “Huwag Kang Lalabas”, Toni and Alex Gonzaga of “The ExorSis” and Daniel Padilla for “Huwag Kang Lalabas”, also chased after the MMFF event in Makati When the Time Comes. ”

Based on the rules and regulations enforced by the MMFF, if a production does not join the parade and awards night, they will have to fine and will not be able to participate in the next MMFF.

We watched a video on Facebook where people shouted Daniel's name when the float of "Kun Maupay It Panahon" passed by but they failed to see Kathryn Bernardo's boyfriend.
